What are Chemical Essential Oils ? Chemical Essential oils, or 'essences' as they are also called, are highly concentrated substances extracted from various parts of aromatic plants and trees. They are usually captured by steam distillation, a process whose origins can be traced back to ancient Mesopotamia. It is widely used for p erfume , shampoo , aerosol , washing powder. ........ Unlike ordinary vegetable oils, such as  c orn and olive, plant essences are highly volatile and will evaporate if left in the open air. The chemistry of essential oils is complex. What are fragrance oils made of?

What are   fragrance oils   made of? Fragrance oils are a mixture composed of essential oils, synthetic aroma chemicals, and aromatic resins.  In order to achieve the scent that a perfumist is trying to achieve, the perfumist has more than 3000 different fragrance ingredients that he may use (natural and synthetic).  These ingredients come in the form of liquid, powder, or crystalline.  In order for a perfumist to be able to dissolve the powder and/or crystalline ingredients into liquid oil, he must use solvents.  A common solvent that has been used for over 50 years is DEP (Di Ethyl Phthalate).  While this solvent has been declared as safe by even the most intense worldwide standards, many companies, such as Natures Garden, decided years ago to only add fragrance oils to our line that were phthalate-free (at the request of many customers).  Additionally, 99% of our old fragrance oils were reformulated phthalate-free years ago; our perfumist us...

What Are the Benefits of Food Additives?

图片
For centuries, food manufacturers have included organic or chemical compounds known as additives to their products. There are several benefits of food additives , including extended shelf life and improved taste, appearance and texture. What is the difference between artificial and natural flavors?

图片
Gary Reineccius, a professor in the department of food science and nutrition at the University of Minnesota, explains. Natural and artificial flavors are defined for the consumer in the Code of Federal Regulations. A key line from this definition is the following: " a natural flavor is the essential oil, oleoresin, essence or extractive, protein hydrolysate, distillate, or any product of roasting, heating or enzymolysis, which contains the flavoring constituents derived from a spice, fruit or fruit juice, vegetable or vegetable juice, edible yeast, herb, bark, bud, root, leaf or similar plant material, meat, seafood, poultry, eggs, dairy products, or fermentation products thereof, whose significant function in food is flavoring rather than nutritional." Artificial flavors are those that are made from components that do not meet this definition. The question at hand, however, appears to be less a matter of legal definition than the "real" or practical diffe...

Natural Perfume Oils to Try

图片
Natural Perfume Oils to Try By Fred on Sep. 8, 2017  in  Beauty When I first entered the world of natural beauty, I was not prepared to give up my perfume. Nope. That sweet-smelling blend of chemicals was a part of my daily routine, and it made me feel beautiful. As I became more and more knowledgeable, though, I began to feel  ss and less beautiful in my favorite perfume. Every time I spritzed it, I could feel my body being coated in a layer of something negative – as dramatic as that sounds. I found myself preferring the scents of natural essential oils, and started to explore that realm. Then I discovered natural perfume oils , and I haven’t looked back since. Today I’m putting the spotlight on my four favorites. They all come in roll-on bottles that are tiny enough to carry around with you – and I highly suggest you do just that. If you have any perfume oils you want to mention, please do so in the comments! I’m always looking for ways to further ignit...
